Militia roll, orders, and appointments, 1798-1850.

A circa 1798 roll of the 3rd Company, 8th Regiment of Connecticut militia; appointments of Ellis Leonard to sergeant and later lieutenant in the 2nd Company. Light Infantry, 8th Regiment in 1840 and 1841 respectively; company orders to 1st Company, 3rd Regiment, 1840; resolution of the officers of the 3rd Brigade on the death of Major General George C. Wilson, 1841; and a series of general, brigade and regimental orders, 1850, all printed on one piece of papers and issued to the New York State Militia.
