Graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1886. Promoted to Brigadier General in 1917. Assumed command of the 7th Infantry Brigade in 1918. Commanded the 7th Brigade during its World War I combat service and for eight months as part of the Army of Occupation. Retired with the rank of Major General. From the description of The Benjamin A.
