Photographic prints reproduced from the holdings of the Louisiana and Lower Mississippi Valley Collections, LSU Libraries, for a 1989 exhibition entitled "The Louisiana State Lottery Company, 1868-1893." Images include portraits of Lottery officials and proponents, together with members of the Anti-Lottery League and other opponents, copies of newspaper articles and advertisements, and cartoons for pro and anti-Lottery factions.

Chartered in 1868, held the monopoly for the lottery business in Louisiana until 1859, then transferred domicile to Honduras and continued to sell tickets in United States until 1906, when the business was broken up by United States Department of Justice.
