A little secret history of affairs at Canton in the year 1743 : when the Centurion, Com̄odore Anson was lying in the river, No. 2, with a short summary of our voyage. 1765-1766.

Largely concerns the disruptive effect of Anson's visit to Canton in 1743. Gives a considerably different account from that in chapters 9-10 of book 3 of Anson's Voyage round the world, and defends Chinese commercial and diplomatic practices. Contains much detail of the European commercial community in Canton.
