Autograph letters signed from John Mitchell Kemble, Cambridge and Gibraltar, to F[rances Anne] Kemble [manuscript], 1830-1833.

Most of the letters discuss European politics and especially the uprising in Spain led by General Torrijos in which Kemble took part. They also refer to his friends, R.C. Trench, John Sterling, W.B. Donne and F.D. Maurice. (p. 3) compares Tennyson's poems to Milton's. (p. 15) discusses his Anglo-Saxon studies and laments the death of Arthur Hallam. On the back of (p. 11) is a letter to his mother, Mrs. Charles Kemble, November 21, 1830.
