Collection, 1827-1945.

Collection consists of diaries, photographs, writings and correspondence of Stephen Mattoon and his family. Most of the letters are transcripts, which were made by Margaret Landon in the course of research for her book "Anna and the King of Siam." Also included is correspondence with fellow missionary Jonathan Wilson. Of particular interest are an address on Lincoln's assasination, and a biographical sketch of Stephen Mattoon by his daughter Mary Mattoon.
