Aaron Noble, son of Thomas Noble of Westfield, Mass., enlisted in a Massachusetts regiment in spring of 1758. The regiment, posted to command of James Abercromby in the 1758 assault against the Fort Ticonderoga, was stationed in Fort William Henry and engaged in fortification and road works. Ten companies comprised the 12th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia: five from Boston, one from North Bridgewater, one from Abington, one from Weymouth, one from Stoughton, and one from Gloucester.
