Letter book of the College of California, 1849-67.

Letters mainly to Samuel H. Willey, concerning serving as trustee or on the faculty of the college. Early letters relate to possible establishment of a college in Benicia or San Jose. Three letters of Frederick Law Olmsted, 1864-65, relate to plans for the college property in Berkeley, later given to the state for the University of California.
