The papers consist of: (1) letters and documents relating to Sir Charles Napier's activities in Ireland and England. This includes a plan of a field works drawn up by Lt. Charles Napier for the defence of Colbridge in 1790 and executed by his father, a 'Memorandum with respect to the defense of Ireland' dated Feb. 7, 1797. Also official and private letters concerned with army matters. (2) Letters and documents to Gen. Napier while he was Governor of the Scinde, including reports from General Simpson.
