This collection consists of the official papers and correspondence of Dr. John Breazeale. Dr. Breazeale served as Wichita State University's Vice-President for Academic Affairs for seventeen years from 1969 to 1986. Prior to this, Dr. Breazeale had been an Associate Professor of Physics at the University beginning in 1959. The large bulk of the materials in the collection concern and originate from Dr. Breazeale's tenure as Vice-President for Academic Affairs.

John Breazeale was born in Brandon, Mississippi on January 1, 1926. He earned a B.S. from Millsaps College in 1947. and a M.S. degree from the University of Alabama in 1951. Breazeale was a National Science Foundation fellow and earned his Ph. D. in physics from the University of Virginia in 1955. Breazeale was a faculty member at Hinds Junior College (1948-50), and the Virginia Military Institute (1951-1953). Breazeale worked at the Bill Jack Scientific Instrument Compa...
