Diaries and family histories [manuscript]. 1881-1975.

Diaries of Alfred Charles Broome, 10 May 1881-16 July 1914, and newspaper cuttings, 1954, relating to A. C. Broome. Diaries describe daily activities on Broome's farm "Emerald Banks" on the Nicholson River, near Bairnsdale, Vic. They are not the original diaries, but a manuscript copy made by June West, Broome's granddaughter. Also, a short account of A. C. Broome's life by June West and a family tree of the Broomes. Also, copy of article entitled "History of Nicholson 1876-1976", by Walter Spurrell, October 1975.

A. C. Broome came to the Bairnsdale area with his parents when he was five years old (in 1867) and remained there for the rest of his life. He was born at Bullarook, near Ballarat, in 1862. In addition to "Emerald Banks", he also had a property at Cann River. He died in Bairnsdale in 1954. From the description of Diaries and family histories [manuscript]. 1881-1975.
