Letters of the Dickens family [manuscript]. 1870-1913.

The letters relate to the Dickens family. There are three letters from Charles's estranged wife Catherine Dickens, two to Alfred, another to his wife Jessie. There is a letter from the family solicitor to Alfred, describing the settlement of his father's estate. Another letter to Alfred's daughters, Kathleen and Violet, is written by Dicken's sister-in-law, Georgina Hogarth. Includes a typescript of a letter written by Charles Dickens to his youngest son, Plorn, (Edward) on his departure to join Alfred in Australia. There is a printed newspaper extract of the death of Jessie Dickens, with an accompanying silk printed funeral notice.
