Diaries, 23 November 1915-9 June 1917, of Sapper Cedric Smithwick who was wounded on Mouquet Farm, and served with the 5th and 12th Field Company Engineers during World War One. Diaires decsribe voyage on troopship "Ceramic", experiences in Egypt, France and England, and voyage home on troopship "Barambah". Also, seven photographs, ca. 1915-1919 of Cedric Smithwick and his two brothers Dick and Vern overseas, and of the nurse (Sister Catherine Smith) who nursed him in England. Also, telegram 9 April 1916, from Dick Smithwick in Heliopolis to Cedric in Tel el Kebir; announcement slip regarding Madame Melba singing, June 1917, at the Theatre Royal; and map of Flanders and two tickets.
