Diaries, mainly in the form of letters to his family in England, describing his daily life and work as an orchardist at Ardmona, near Shepparton, in Victoria. Vol. 1 contains descriptions of his voyage from England to Australia, February - March 1892, work for the Chaffey Brothers at Renmark, South Australia, and helping friends to clear and settle their land before he moved to Ardmona. Vol. 16 contains descriptions of his voyages to and from England in 1905, and, briefly, his travels in India and Sri Lanka on the way back to Australia.
