Collection of the Andre family papers. 1772-1796.

The Collection of the Andre family papers consists of letters from Major John Andre to his Uncle John Lewis Andre and a probate copy of the last will and testament of Major Andre. The majority of the collection, a series of fifty-six letters, were written by J.L. Andre to his father John Lewis Andre and discuss family and business matters. The letters give references to European political and military developemnts. The collection also includes J.L. Andre's journals of his trip to Genoa in 1796.
