Compiled by Harry Chaplin, and includes a letter to Chaplin from his nephew, Wilbur, 1947; letters between E.J. Brady and Kate Baker, 1943; a letter from Baker to James Devaney, 1939; copies of journal articles on Furphy; copies of addresses given by Captain C.H. Peters and Bernard O'Dowd; also, press clippings on Furphy and Such is life from Australian newspapers, including the Bulletin.

Joseph Furphy, the writer, was born at Yering, near Yarra Glen. He is best known for Such is life (1903) published under the pen-name 'Tom Collins'.
