The collection also includes notes, background material, correspondence, book reviews, newspaper clippings, photographs, cassettes and miscellaneous papers, together with material on the Australian Labor Party, Queensland Branch, papers relating to Fitzgerald's academic career and politics in Queensland, and research for a biography of "Red Ted : the life of E.G. Theodore", 1994.

Theodore was Premier and Treaurer in Queensland from 1919 to 1925. He entered Federal Parliament and was Treasurer in the Labor Governments of 1929-1930 and 1931.
