Theodore, Edward Granville, 1884-1950
Variant namesTheodore was Premier and Treaurer in Queensland from 1919 to 1925. He entered Federal Parliament and was Treasurer in the Labor Governments of 1929-1930 and 1931. In 1931 he concentrated on his business interests which included a Directorship of Consolidated Press and directorships of mines in Australia and Fiji.

E G Theodore was a politician and businessman. He was responsible for organizing the amalgamated Workers' Association and was later president of the Australian Workers' Union. In 1909 he won the state seat of Woothakata becoming Treasurer and Minister for Public Works in 1915. He was Premier of Queensland from 1919 until 1925. In 1927 he won the federal seat of Dalley (NSW), becoming Treasurer and Deputy Primeminister in 1929.
