The octavo volume contains records of the library of the Fraternity of Odd Fellows, 1824-1827, including the rules and regulations governing the library, lists of books donated or purchased (including donor's name or the cost), and lists of books borrowed by specific members, with the number of days allowed and fines paid for overdue books. There is also a list of books deposited from the "late Military Library" by Dr. John Green in 1824 and copies of receipts for books. The folder contains two certificates of membership.

The Fraternity of Odd Fellows was founded in Worcester, Mass. in 1820 or 1821. It apparently existed primarily for the purpose of operating a subscription library, and was unconnected with what was later known as the International Order of Odd Fellows, which instituted its first lodge in Worcester in 1844. Christopher Columbus Baldwin (1800-1835), son of Eden and Abigail Force Baldwin, studied at Leicester Academy and Harvard College, from which he was expelled after a disturbance and just before graduation in May 1823. He studied law with John Davis and Charles Allen and was admitted to the bar in October 1826. Isaac Davis (1799-1883), son of Phineas and Martha Eager Davis, was born in Northborough, Mass. He prepared for college at Leicester and Lancaster academies and graduated from Brown University in 1822.
