Foreign exchange program between U.S. and Africa, model for the Peace Corps. Includes correspondence, minutes, notes, reports, speeches, publications, press clippings, and photographs. Correspondence accounts for approximately half of the items and includes U.S. State Department officials and administrative staff of OCA among the principal senders or receivers of letters, etc. Among these are OCA founder, James H. Robinson, Jerome M. Vogel, director of the African Leaders Program of OCA (formerly African Youth Leadership Program), Barthelemy A. Rousseve, and his associate Judith Waite. Items of special interest are grantee profiles and grantee reports which provide insight into the character, expectations, and assumptions of many individuals currently holding positions of leadership in various African countries.
