Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) was an American military commander and political candidate. Robert Edward Lee (1807-1870) served as General of the Confederate Army in the U.S. Civil War and was president of Washington College in Lexington, Virginia from 1865 to 1870.
