[Letter] 1795 Oct. 7, London [to] Mr. Young, Philadelphia / C. Dilly.

A list of books in sheets, printed for and sold by C. Dilly, London, Oct. 1794. (2 p.). On pages 3-4, Charles Dilly writes a letter to Mr. Young in Philadelphia commenting upon some of the books offered. Most probably the letter is to William Young (1755-1829), a Scottish immigrant, who engaged in bookselling and printing in Philadelphia from 1784 to 1802.

Charles Dilly was apprenticed to his brother Edward Dilly (1732-1779) as a bookseller in 1756 and joined the firm in 1764 and worked jointly with Edward until his death in 1779.
