The collection contains family correspondence and documents. Included are the will of Eugenia Young (1936), which set aside funds to establish the public library in Danville, and the Young Foundation at Centre College; clippings about the library, and an invitation to its opening; and a letter from Henry Clay to John J. Crittenden (ca.1845), regarding a portrait of Crittenden by G.P.A. Healy, which now hangs in the library.
