Eugenia Young was a prominent Danville, Kentucky citizen, who was instrumental in establishing the public library in Danville. Her father, John C. Young, and her brother, William C. Young, both served as presidents of Centre College. Sara Lee Young was her sister, and her mother, Cornelia, was the daughter of John J. Crittenden, who served as both governor and United States Senator from Kentucky.
