Four letters to James Hall. In the letter dated 8 January 1848 he mentions a "Waverly manuscript" that Hall as sent him, which he feels is too valuble to keep and which he sends back to Hall; this is probably a ms. of Sir Walter Scott's novel Waverly. This same letter has the year "1849" written in pencil beneath Roberts' date of 1848, possibly in Roberts' own hand.
