He is the President, charged with great responsibilities and deserving every support; so is Congress charged with great responsibilities, which they cannot escape;" letter, 1919 Feb. 8, suggesting that the government has taken over the cables "to control absolutely the flow of news between the United States and Europe in regard to the peace conference;" letter, 1919 Oct. 2, upon "examining the League terms find it impossible to support them as they stand."
