Whatcom Community College's collection of Treaties research papers, 1991?

This is a collection of documents from a notebook that came to Whatcom Community College via Everett Sanders of Ferndale, WA. It is not clear whether the notes belonged to Mr. Sanders or if they were passed along by him. The notes are about the Treaties that were to be made with the Native Americans in Washington Territory during the 1850's.

Governor Isaac Stevens formed a Commission by appointing members on Dec. 7, 1854. The Commission spoke of general operations among the Native American Tribes in Washington Territory. They discussed the necessity of a speedy conclusion to the Treaties with the Native Americans and moving them to reservations.
