Production materials for Stolz's "Venus in Seide" and its English adaptation "Venus in silk" or "Beloved rogue" by Laurence Schwab and Lester O'Keefe (also the lyricist). The English and German materials are intermixed. Included in the collection are vocal scores, a piano score, orchestra, chorus, and vocal parts published by Doremi (Basel, 1933), in German but with English words written above the German, and with manuscript manifestations for the English adaptation. The chorus scores, lyrics, and more than half of the chorus parts and some orchestra parts are mimeographed. The orchestra parts include 24 parts for stage band. Promptbooks are typewritten, in English.

Alfred Grunwald was born in Vienna, Austria, on February 16, 1884. He worked for a theatrical agency before turning to libretto writing. He came to the United States in 1940 after several years' residence in France.
