Department of education, administrative files, 1980-1998.

These files include issues pertaining to the administration of education programs and personnel. Subjects include the records of the Board of Trustees education committee; the development of new policy around issues such as ticketing, auditorium use and appraisals of art; museum statistics; and Texas Education Agency accreditation of teacher workshops. The subseries 11.1, interns, documents all aspects of the MFAH intern program including the Minority Intern Program (MINT), the application and selection process, the work of the advisory committee, special programs (Rice University, University of Houston, Kinkaid School, Randolph-Macon) and general information on funding and marketing of the program. The subseries 11.2 awards consists of certificates, plaques, statues and other items given to education department staff between 1980 and 2002 in recognition of their contribution to a variety of agencies and programs.
