Sherry Davis Collection : papers 1991-1999.

This collection contains the papers from the first female public address-announcer in the history of Major League Baseball. This collection gives an insight into Davis' schedule and duties as a PA announcer, her community involvement and fan mail. Sherry Davis became the first female PA announcer in MLB history with the SF Giants at Candlestick Park. This collection includes her first major league game scorebook, as well as her last. There are interesting announcements from her seven seasons including Hideo Nomo's first major legue game, moments of silence and the changes in disclaimers over those yers. Also included are news clippings and fan mail.

Sherry Davis was the first fulltime female public address announcer in the major leagues. Davis made her debut on March 10, 1993, Opening Day at Candlestick Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Davis would announce for the team until 1999, when the Giants relocated to Oracle Park Park and declined to renew her contract.
