Wamsutta Mills minutes, 1874-1901.

Volume contains the minutes of the Board of Director's meetings and the annual meetings of the stockholders (1874-1901). Board meetings were held on a monthly basis from 1874 to 1892 and afterward on a quarterly basis. Minutes reflect the business activities of the Wamsutta Mills as well as the management and expansion of the mills. Business activities include reports of amounts of cloth produced and sold annually, awarding of sales areas to representatives in various markets, setting of salaries for workers, as well as increase in capital stock and the setting of dividends. Improvement to the mills included additional number of spindles and looms and expansion was documented in the construction of new mills. Sales of property including land, houses, and other buildings were also recorded.
