Thomas Denham, 1689-1691, first resident minister in Town of Bedford; nine volume series of printed typescripts of Bedford's historical records, consisting of minutes of town meetings and related documents, 1680-1841, land records, 1680-1800, records concerning Bedford soldiers of the Revolution, 1763-1790, cemetery records of the Town, 1681-1975, and genealogy of the 22 original settlers; book of photographs assembled by the Bedford Historical Society, depicting people and scenes in Bedford and neighboring villages, 1867-1980; and an autograph album of Louisa G. Day, 1880-1889, largely of friends and family, but also including Rutherford B. Hayes and members of his cabinet.

Rutherford B. Hayes was born in Delaware, Ohio, in 1822 and earned degrees from Kenyon College and Harvard Law School before starting a career as a lawyer in Cincinnati. Hayes served as a major general in the Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War and was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1864.
