Collection represents correspondence, staff papers, and reports retained by George Griffiths, who was involved in the day-to-day activities of the Select Committee appointed by Governor Nelson Rockefeller and Chancellor Edgar W. Cooper. The Committee included McGeorge Bundy, chairman, Dr. James Conant, Dr. John Hannah, Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, and Dr. Abram Sachar. Correspondence is primarily between Bundy and various university presidents and between Bundy and Rockefeller. Staff papers relate to the day-to-day operation of the Committee including inter-office memoranda, meeting minutes and interim reports, and drafts of the completed report, 1968.
