Diary, 1811-1820.

In addition to routine matters such as weather, farm chores, finances, and family news, Moore wrote about break-downs, repairs, and stone work at the mill; his fight with H.G. Kingsbury and P. Mabee to retain ownership of the mill; his repentant feelings after drinking and debauching sprees; and a time spent doing itinerant work in Dutchess and Orange Counties to earn cash and then tracking down and bringing to justice the man who robbed him. The diary also includes his copy of earlier diary entries from 1778-1779, verses he composed, an unidentified tax assessment record, and a list of Quakers in the Town of Pawling (Dutchess County) who were excused from militia duty.
