Volumes kept by Peter Van Schaack include registers of Supreme Court cases, 1790-1820; accounts concerning family estates, 1785-1816; ledger concerning legal services with estate records for Isaac Vanderpoel, 1769-1818; and "Collection of Cases and Opinions Thereon" consisting of notes and copies of wills, letters, and other legal papers, 1768-1807. Volumes of David Van Schaack include accounts from the Kinderhook Boarding House, 1849-1869; records of notes, bonds, mortgages, 1866-1872, with record of court cases kept by George Van Santvoord, 1846-1849; and estate records of Peter I. Hoes, 1846-1852. Volumes relating to Cornelius Van Schaack include his diary from trips to Cherry Valley, Cooperstown, and Cobleskill relating to land purchases, 1788-1797; and legal and estate records, 1776-1793. Other items include letters from Peter Van Schaack to his brother David concerning business and legal matters and to his son Henry concerning his law studies and living expenses, 1784-1789; petition of thanks to Peter Van Schaack from settlers at New Canaan, Conn., 1772; letter from Gouveneur Morris to Peter Van Schaack discussing political theory and the American system, 1784; letter by Henry C.
