Archives contains records of the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of New York including papers of Mother Generals and Presidents; government records; records of the many schools, orphanages, hospitals, and other missions run by the Sisters of Charity; miscellaneous records relating to the ceremonies, celebrations, and work of the Sisters of Charity; and a photograph collection. Also included are records of the Federation of the Daughters of Elizabeth Ann Seton; some correspondence of Elizabeth Ann Seton; and correspondence, miscellaneous clippings, and photographs of her family.

The Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul were established in 1846 in McGowan's Pass at 109th St., New York City. When their land was appropriated for Central Park, they moved to Font Hill, now in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Mother House was named Mount Saint Vincent.
