This subseries contains the personal correspondence and writings of Rensselaer Van Rensselaer. Included in the writings are a two volume journal of a journey to Colombia (1829-1830), a narrative on the military history of Albany, examples of Van Rensselaer's poetry and verses, and a narrative of the rebellion in Canada (1838).
