Conversation with Alan Herries Wilson [sound recording], 1974 November 9.

Dr.Colin Hempstead taped his conversation with Sir Alan H. Wilson, for the purpose of collecting source material for his Doctoral thesis. In this conversation, Wilson begins with a discussion of R. H. Fowler's paper on dense matter, then moves on to discuss: the history of solid state physics research and more specifically, the study of paramagnetism; his work at the University of Cambridge and Universität Leipzig; Fermi-Dirac Statistics; and his receipt of the Adams Prize. Other topics and affiliations discussed include: Wolfgang Pauli, Werner Heisenberg, Felix Bloch, and the Sommerfeld theory.
