Account book, 1 May 1868-31 March 1873 of coal sales continued as a scrapbook of newspaper clippings and other materials related to the coal industry. These clippings, pasted onto many pages of the original manuscript, consist largely of Philadelphia stock exchange quotations, 1879-1897 and various rates of freight on coal and coal prices. Also contains copies of typescript correspondence discussing and delineating mine workers' demands formulated by the United Mine Workers of America, 1916 and First Annual Reports of the Diamond State Steel Company and the Philadelphia Retail Coal Dealers' Association; printed price circulars of The Philadelphia and Reading Coal and Iron Company, 1916-1917, and other ephemera relating to various Pennsylvania coal transportation companies.
