Guerra, 1914-1918.

These records are communications of the Secretariatus Status office (including some drafts of communications), documenting the concerns and activities of the Vatican during World War I. The researcher should note that the Guerra series is separate from the large general series of Sec. Status correspondence files. See SS. Fondo Moderno and SS. Esteri. For comprehensive coverage of the war years, the researcher should thus also consult the Esteri series, first beginning with the appropriate Protocolli and Rubricellae index volumes.
