State institution files, 1923-1927.

The Governor is the chief executive of the state whose function is to administer the law of the state. This series consists of the state institution files, all involving educational institutions. It contains annual reports, clippings, correspondence, monthly reports, and telegrams. The monthly reports of the Alabama Boys Industrial School are particularly detailed. They occupy a little more than half of the box. There was also a controversy involving Dr. Spright Dowell, President of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University). There is also an annual report of the State Normal School at Montgomery.
