Reverend James Rowe was an Ala. Methodist minister who traveled throughout the South. In the 1830s he courted and married Malinda Hoff, of Cincinnati, Ohio. After her death Rowe sent his two young sons to school in Ohio and to be near their mother's family. One son, J. H. Bascomb Rowe was murdered in Tex. in 1852. His brother Andrew J.
