Rowe family.
Reverend James Rowe was an Ala. Methodist minister who traveled throughout the South. In the 1830s he courted and married Malinda Hoff, of Cincinnati, Ohio. After her death Rowe sent his two young sons to school in Ohio and to be near their mother's family.
One son, J. H. Bascomb Rowe was murdered in Tex. in 1852. His brother Andrew J. Rowe, after attending Ohio Wesleyan University, became a farmer in Fla. and served in the Fla. militia, and eventually purchased a farm in Centralia, Ill. He married in the late 1850s and he and his wife Carrie had a son named Bascomb.
