The Adams family papers consist of correspondence between family members and business associates from 1849 to 1863. Family members discuss in these letters financial matters as well as the political and social climate in the South before and during the Civil War. John and Tosh Adams discussed life in camp and on the battlefield during the Civil War. Also included is a deed from Marengo County, Ala., and a copy of an Alabama Supreme Court case in which the Adams family was involved.
