This collection contains the estate papers, dated 1860-1915, of the Roosevelt Family of Hyde Park, New York. These papers relate primarily to various estate settlement court cases and estate appraisals for tax purposes of the Roosevelt Family members. Also included in the collection are estate papers related to Franklin H. Delano, grandfather of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a daybook, dated 1879-1880, of John A. Roosevelt, and a memoranda book of James Roosevelt Roosevelt.

Franklin H. Delano and his wife, Laura Astor Delano, had two homes in the 1880s: one at 190 Madison Avenue, New York City, and the other in Tarrytown, along the Hudson River.
