Letter, 1776 October 1.

Letter to his brother Cyrus Keith offering advice on the "act" of courting women. Keith also relates a story of his brief romance with a woman named Locky Davis, while he was ill with the small pox. Miss Davis visited him a number of times and Keith apparently fell in love with her. The final sentence of the letter expresses his feelings, "But I shall never think of her without pain, the name of Locky Davis will forever rack my soul." Written at Kingsbridge, N.Y.
