Letter, 1815 May 9.

Letter to his sister Olive Sewall. In the letter Sewall discusses his recent selection as a represntative to the Maine General Court to establish the state government. He also comments on the "late news of Napoleon's recovering his empire with such unheard of rapidity." Sewall states that he believes the recovery will "be favorable in a commercial point of view, provided we have discretion to keep from being embroiled in the troubles and contentions of the old world." Written at Portland.
