This collection is an artificial collection of records pertaining to Massachusetts. The items in the collection have been loosely separated into two series: Correspondence and Documents. Items include letters, deeds, writs, warrants, and petitions. Documents pertain to the towns of Southborough, Douglas, South Hadley, Ipswich, Boxford, and Dorchester. Of particular note are several documents that date from the Revolutionary War period. Also of note: a proclamation in Arabic addressed to Governor Frank G. Allen and a letter addressed to Rep. Henry L. Shattuck. The signatures of the following governors are found in the collection: John Brooks, Caleb Strong, George N. Briggs, Eugene N. Foss. Additional names of interest: Henry Dearborn, Levi Woodbury, Luther Jewett.
