Autograph endorsement, signed, as President, with initials, "A.J." on integral leaf of ALS of George Croghan, 1835 September 4, Washington, to the President.

Croghan believes that the present army uniform is not adapted to the service and is not similar to the Revolutionary War uniform which Jackson wanted to copy. The President refers the matter to the Secretary of War.
