Black and white and color photographs, negatives, transparencies and contact sheets of University related activities such as theater productions, sports events, classrooms, faculty and staff portraits, and aerial views of campus providing a representation of campus life and documenting the photographic work done by the Media Development Center. Primarily black and white negatives and corresponding contact sheets of photographs shot by the Media Development Center. The negatives remain in numerical order, and the best means of access is through the contact sheets which are arranged chronologically according to when the photograph was made. Black and white and color slides consisting of faculty, campus scenes and student life. Included is the Viennese Ball, years 1977, 1979, 1984-1988 and Cabaret, years 1983-1989. Other slides include construction of campus buildings, snow sculptures, maps and aerial photographs. Smaller portions of the series include color slides (arranged by subject) and transparencies (arranged numerically) consisting primarily of campus aerials and exterior scenes. The final subseries consists of black and white negatives and prints of the School of Nursing classes arranged chronologically.

In 1946 the Audio-Visual Aids Committee, under the chairmanship of Louis Slock, issued what was probably the first catalog of audio-visual equipment and material available at the Eau Claire State Teachers College. In 1947 the Education Department made audio-visual training a requirement for every student in teacher education.
